Estefanía Rodríguez Sánchez (she/her, ella) is a Colombian, Queer, abolitionist educator committed to dismantling the structural racism and the radical transformation needed within public education. Rodriguez has over 15 years of experience as a middle school history teacher, instructional coach, and consultant supporting educators using critical pedagogies, Ethnic studies, transformative justice, and community activism to organize students and their families. She is a fierce advocate and practitioner of centering the joy and knowledge of Black, Brown, and Queer children. Currently, she is a Ph.D student at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Education in the Race, Inequality, and Language in Education Program. Her research focuses on the identity development and radicalization of abolitionist educators of color and how their ethos and pedagogies impact young people. Estefania holds a Master of Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education in Instructional Leadership and a Bachelor of Science in Social Studies Education from Boston University. Her knowledge comes from her community, the wisdom of her elders, and the histories of freedom fighters. Ultimately, she sees education as liberation.
