Leib Sutcher has been a Research Associate at the Learning Policy Institute where he is a member of the Educator Quality Team. His work focuses on the teacher labor market, including recruitment and retention, the inequitable distribution of unqualified and inexperienced educators, and teacher shortages. He is co-author of the Institute’s report, Supporting Principals’ Learning: Key Features of Effective Programs, and several reports on the teacher shortages including, A Coming Crisis in Teaching? Teacher Supply, Demand, and Shortages in the U.S. He is currently enrolled in UCLA’s teacher education program and continues to consult for LPI.
