Alvin Makori is a Ph.D. candidate in Urban Education Policy at the University of Southern California. His research primarily investigates how neighborhood change shapes K-12 opportunities and experiences for historically marginalized youth, with his dissertation centering on the K-12 impacts of urban university expansion. Alvin completed his BA in Law, History, and Culture at the University of Southern California, and he is a former research assistant at the Center on Reinventing Public Education.
