Miguel Casar, Ph.D., is a Mexican activist and scholar laboring as an Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama. Miguel’s work sits at the intersection of critical qualitative methodologies, social foundations of education, and social movements. Grounded in critical, abolitionist, and decolonial traditions, his research and movement work explore how qualitative inquiry can support collective praxis—cultivating spaces alongside those resisting oppression and seeking to imagine and build the otherwise to ask hard questions about our realities, build power, and move towards more just and humanizing futures.
